Alignment: Alignment refers to the positioning of elements in relation to each other within a design. Proper alignment creates a sense of order, cohesion, and readability. Aligning elements along a grid or using a consistent alignment style helps create a visually pleasing and organized composition. It also aids in establishing visual connections and grouping related elements together.
Repetition: Repetition involves the consistent use of visual elements throughout a design. By repeating certain elements such as colors, shapes, patterns, or typography, designers can create unity and establish a cohesive visual identity. Repetition helps reinforce branding, creates rhythm, and enhances the overall visual impact of the design.
These five principles of graphic design—balance, contrast, hierarchy, alignment, and repetition—serve as guidelines for creating visually appealing and effective designs.
